so, what emotional type are you??
ps: the answer to the maths question is 97. (only tiffany got it right at first try! ;) the reason is because, when mr ong returned the customer 79 dollars change, the money is from the shopkeeper. (remember mr ong exchanged the customer's 100 bucks with the shopkeeper, so the 100 dollars change is the shopkeeper's money.) so technically at that point, mr ong still haven't lost any money. however when the shopkeeper realised that the money is fake and mr ong returned him 100 dollars, mr ong only used 79 dollars of his own money to return because after giving back the customer change for the present, there is still 21 dollars of the shopkeeper's money left. so mr ong only used 79 dollars of his own money plus the 21 dollars to return to the shopkeeper 100 dollars. since the customer used the fake 100 dollar to pay for the present, it can be said that mr ong had 'gave the present away for free'. the cost price of the present is 18 dollars. therefore, mr ong lost 18 dollars in addition to the 79 dollars of his own money that he 'topped up', to return to the shopkeeper. 18+79=97! get it now? take ur time n process it slowly.. ;) |
